Coffee, baked goods, and pleasurable treats! Almond Bakery on Harbord Street is a great spot to visit if you’re looking for something greater than your cup of Tim Hortons or Starbucks!

This cute little bake shop stands out with its decor – I remember taking my visit here with my friend and being captivated by the creative writings on the window as well as the eye-capturing logo of Almond Butterfly! Upon my arrival, I could sense its popularity due to the budding amount of customers that have arrived and were just waiting for their taste of Almond Bakery.

Luckily they’re opening up their new location in the Dundas location to accommodate for more fans! Check out Melody’s (the owner of Almond Butterfly) instagram for more updates on this:

The special thing about Almond Butterfly is that it is a 100% GLUTEN FREE cafe and bakeshop, with vegan and paleo options. This is an awesome way to have all the wonderful treats (from cupcakes to brownies to power balls) in all different types of flavours!

Almond Butterfly Bakery also offers different cafe beverages such as coffee, lattes, cappuccinos and other hot beverages with different customizations that you can add to your morning cup of joe!

For my selection during my visit, I ordered a Vanilla Latte and Chocolate Espresso Cupcake. The latte was perfectly done – I did not need to add any additional milk or sugar like how I would need to at other cafes. Latte art was also a vision to behold, it is one of the main reasons I truly enjoy ordering lattes in the morning: to have something beautiful to look!

The chocolate espresso cupcake was also beautifully made – I loved the softness of the cupcake, as well as the smoothness of the espresso icing on top. I was worried that the icing would be more on a bitter end (because it was an espresso based icing) but it was actually the perfect amount of sweet and bitterness from the espresso. The chocolate in the cupcake as well was very light and made it taste fantastic. As well, the coffee beans sprinkled at the top added a nice touch.

My friend ordered for himself Black Roast Coffee and Carrot Cake, which on his account, was done very well. The carrot cake had great texture from my own sample of his cake, and it was also made nice and fresh.

Overall, Almond Butterfly bakery is really a nice change from your typical stops into Starbucks or Tim Hortons, and adds that touch of sunshine into your day! I’m eager to see how their new location will fare, although I’m confident it’ll do swell!
