Japanese Cheesecake has definitely taken its lead in the dessert scene in Toronto. The Cheese Garden is a great place to visit in North York if you’re looking for just the right Japanese Cheesecake to satisfy your craving.
Nearby to Yunshang Rice Noodle by the North York Centre, The Cheese Garden is a comfortable, snug dining space for dessert takers to feast in. The place itself was very clean and tidy, and there were TVs displaying the menu choices. I wanted to have a taste of their most popular choices, so I ordered and actually ended up doing takeout to bring home.
I loved the packaging, it was very cute and colourful! On the takeout menu, we ended up receiving a Regular Japanese Cheesecake, Muji Matcha Tiramisu, Original Double Fromage Cheesecake and Japanese Cheese Tart.
All the cakes were extremely beautiful, and had such wonderful taste too! I really enjoyed the softness of the Regular Japanese Cheesecake, and the Cheese Tart was a very nice blend of crispy tart and cheese custard. I also like the Matcha Tiramisu, but I did feel that it was too overwhelming with matcha. I did end up putting the entire powdered matcha on the top of the tiramisu, so that may have been the reason!
My favourite dessert out of the selection was definitely the Double Fromage Cheesecake, it was a little bit frozen which almost gave it a frozen ice cream cake feel. In addition, the sweetness was at the perfect level, with no complaints about it being overwhelming or too little. I really enjoyed this one!
