My friend and I decided spontaneously to grab some dessert, and as a gift for my belated birthday back in the summer, my friend was sweet enough to treat me to dessert that night. Not only do I have the pleasure of documenting this new spot for foodie utopia, but I also got some great ice cream with a great friend. What more could I ever ask for?
Despite it being close to the evening time, Kekou Gelato was quite busy, as you may have deciphered from the photo above! The staff were all very friendly and we were greeted with beautiful displays of colourful ice cream and different types. There was also a menu up top which we could refer to as well.
One of the things that I liked is that Kekou let us test try samples of the ice cream before we chose which scoop we wanted. My friend went crazy on the test tries, but I was set on grabbing the Vietnamese Coffee ice cream, simply because it was, of course, Vietnamese inspired.
My friend was feeling a bit adventurous in her choice of ice cream that night, she decided on the Whiskey Green Tea ice cream, which was very tasty indeed. The strength of the whiskey actually tied nicely with the taste of the matcha.
On my end, the Vietnamese Coffee ice cream was great, I always enjoy having coffee ice cream (or any form of coffee!) and it was the perfect blend of coffee bitter-sweet. Thought I’m not a huge fan of sweets, it doesn’t hurt to have a scoop of ice cream once in awhile. Kekou Gelato was a great, convenient spot to me and setting some reasonable prices for their scoops.
