Being in downtown Toronto is a great treat as a foodie because of the vast amount of food at your disposal. The problem however, is that there aren’t many healthy options to choose from when you are out and about the city. Revitasize aims to provide great options to live healthier lives in Toronto and at their various locations. At Revitasize, they sympathize with their customers with the fact that our daily lives are super hectic, and as a result it’s extremely difficult to give our bodies the nutrients that it needs. Revitasize’s genesis has occurred in order to bring cold-pressed, fresh, raw organic juices along with a full menu of “on the go” healthy food options.

When I made my visit here with my friend a few days ago, the store was brightly lit and had a monitor displaying all the options that we could have. On the side, you could find options for different organic soups as well as cold press juice options.

My visit to Revitasize was quick simply because of how busy my schedule was (I remember both my friend and I were studying for a macro exam that day), yet my visit had me filled up with some of their greatest selections. My friend ended up getting herself a Green Smoothie to refresh for her studying later on that day, and I ended up grabbing a Blue Magic Cold Press Juice and The Ultimate Acai Bowl.

The Green Smoothie consisted of Kale, Cashew, 3x Vegan Protein, Vanilla, Banana, Chia Seeds, Maple Syrup and a choice of either Peanut Butter or Almond. My friend was really rejuvenated after taking her first few sips of her smoothie and testified that she felt instantly refreshed after just experiencing a day of classes.

The Blue Magic Cold Press that I ended up having for myself was a creation actually made by the owner – it consists of a combination of blue majik, pineapple, ginger and lemon. It’s a juice that is extremely rich in Vitamin C and contains the super Blue Majik Algae that is primarily made of Phycocyanin, a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. The taste of this juice really woke me up and gave me the energy boost I needed with the clash of the ginger and lemon, and has a perfectly sweet taste with the fruits along with a unique taste from the blue algae.

The Ultimate Acai Bowl was a choice that had Trail Mix, Banana, Shredded Coconut, Chia Seeds, Goiji, Peanut Butter and Vegan Protein. The packaging was vacuum sealed, in order to keep the freshness intact. This made opening the container when starting to eat it a bit difficult. Once it was successfully opened however, I mixed the bowl up and had a chance to enjoy my first ever acai bowl.

I can definitely see why many people have been drawn to acai bowls as a snack or even for breakfast – it certainly screamed healthy to me while I ate it. I definitely enjoyed the banana which was submerged in the smoothie mixture at the bottom of the bowl, and surprisingly the peanut butter was a great match with the bowl. This acai bowl was basically a smoothie in a bowl, and it was a very filling and refreshing meal to have. If I could have this every day for breakfast, I would surely be a more healthier person!
