Thai cuisine has taken a huge trend in the downtown core of Toronto. At Imm Thai Kitchen, you can be sure that you are receiving a unique, authentic Thai cuisine experience.

The Imm Thai Kitchen is located in the downtown core on College Street, close to the Bathurst and College intersection. Inside, you can be promised beautiful decor and Thai ambiance. The walls were decorated with beautiful art decor and modern furniture, offering a comfortable and relaxing dining space.

Imm is a contemporary Thai restaurant that holds woodsy decor feelings and traditional Thai vibes.

My friend and I began the night with Singha Beer – a personal favourite of mine for any Thai cuisine I may be having for the night. The beer is nice and light, and offers hints of sweetness, as well as the relaxing feeling of cold beer.

We started off with some appetizers, and it was very clear that Imm Thai Kitchen pays attention to its dishes coming out to the table at its optimal presentation. Their Laap Tod – or deep fried E-San style minced pork was an interesting delicacy that I couldn’t find at other Thai restaurants I’ve been to. They have really tried to make their appetizers and dishes in general more unique and tasty for their patrons.

In addition, their Tom Yum Soup was to die for – especially with shrimp! The Tom Yum had the perfect kick of spicy-ness and sourness, and was marinated beautifully with a variety of vegetables and shrimp.

Soon enough, a beautiful plate of Pad Thai with Chicken came to the table in a more unique plating style. Wrapped in a fresh, egg crepe – this was definitely my first time receiving Pad Thai in this fashion. The egg crepe added a nice, light flavour from the egg to the entire dish, and the pad thai was created perfectly in their homemade sauce. The portion was also enough for both my friend and I, so I would suggest ordering two main dishes to share among the table, or more if you have more people with you during your visit to Imm!

Alongside our Pad Thai, we also wanted to try out their Paneng Red Curry with Chicken which offers a homemade curry with green beans, served with a side of rice. You can also order this curry with beef or tofu. I personally enjoyed the sweetness of the curry which is famous with the coconut milk element that Thai cuisine incorporated in their curries, and my friend also enjoyed the deep and rich flavours that this dish has to offer.

All in all, Imm Thai Kitchen was another Thai restaurant for the books. I would highly recommend trying them out for a taste if you’re around the Little Italy area – as their selection truly blew me away and the service was splendid.
