If you’re looking for a “World of Flavour” – you don’t need to look further than Char’d Grill! Foodie Utopia got a chance to visit this new establishment (only 2 and a half months in the food industry!) and we only have great things to say during our experience here.
Char’d Grill is run by a father and son duo, with years of experience in the restaurant industry prior to opening Char’d Grill. In this new restaurant, they are constantly thinking of new and fresh concepts that redefine the idea of grilled food. They have originated in the backyard of their own home and eventually opened Char’d Grill two and a half months ago. Char’d sets an unparalleled standard of quality, taste and flavour.
Immediately after we entered the establishment, we could see that all the proper protocols of the sanitization amidst COVID 19 were being followed. They had customers social distancing, all the employees wearing masks, and hand sanitizing stations at the cashier. We were greeted by none other than Shaz himself, one of the owners of Char’d Grill. Upon first meeting, he was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. It was such a pleasure becoming acquainted with him!
The service was phenomenal and they kindly served us two of their signature boxes, along with dessert and a tasty side. They were all packaged beautifully in great boxes and we were able to take them all the way from their location in Mississauga to Brampton without the food getting cold.
We were served two signature boxes:
- Chicken Skewers with Lisbon Heat (Peri Peri) Flavour and Waffle Fries – The next box had perfectly grilled chicken skewers which were very tasty. My partner absolutely loved the Lisbon Heat flavour, as it had a nice, spicy kick which strengthened the flavour of the chicken. For me personally, I’m not the biggest fan of heat with my food, so I could only muster a couple of bites before I was done. If you’re not a spicy fan like myself, I would recommend going with their Beef Short Ribs instead of this dish. Their waffle fries however were to die for! It was perfectly crisp, yet soft and perfectly salted. I really enjoyed their take on Waffle fries for this box.
- Beef Short Ribs with Sweet Seoul (Korean BBQ) flavour and Rice – This box was very flavourful and the short ribs really tasted like authentic Korean BBQ. It came paired with coleslaw which balanced the flavours quite nicely. The vegetable rice was nice as well, however there was a bit too much rice compared to protein, so we did have a lot of rice leftover. Regardless, the whole box was a really great meal to have and had some great tastes to munch on!
- Cinnamon Pockets – We were also given some delicious cinnamon pockets for dessert, which was a great way to end the meal for the night. It was a great little pastry with the perfect amount of sweetness. Both my partner and I usually opt out of dessert, but if we could get cinnamon pockets again, we definitely wouldn’t mind!
Lastly, we also received some Cassava Fries with Chutney Sauce. This was actually my favourite to eat! If you know me well, you’d know that I am a huge fan of French Fries, but the Cassava fries that we had here were particularly unique and oh so delicious. The cassava had a nice starchiness and the chutney sauce really added a nice, tangy kick to the whole side. My partner and I really liked having this along with our entire meal for the evening, and it was just a very splendid dinner.
Overall, it was a great honour to try out Char’d Grill. My partner and I truly enjoy the meal we had, but what was most valuable was meeting exceptional staff and learning more about the story behind the restaurant. I would definitely recommend trying Char’d grill not only for some of the most flavourful meats varying from beef short ribs to chicken, but also for the stellar service they provide.
